China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as CHEARI) was established  
in 1964. It is a national authoritative technical institute which takes standards, testing, certification  
and technical services as its main businesses. CHEARI (Beijing) Certification  
& Testing Co., Ltd.  
(hereinafter referred to as CHCT) is the testing technical service platform under CHEARI, as well as the  
unit of National Household Electric Appliance Quality Supervision & Inspection Center, National Smart Home  
(Electronics) Quality Supervision & Inspection Center, China Testing & Inspection Institute for Household  
Electric Appliances (hereinafter referred to as CTIHEA) and CHCT Certification Center. On the basis of the  
traditional testing ability, CHCT continuously excavates the market and consumer demand, expands the  
qualification of voluntary products certification body, and becomes an integrated organization for testing  
and certification.  
CHCT is committed to building "one-stop" service platform, providing high quality technical services for  
the industry, and promoting industry development and technological progress. Relying on the well-established  
service system and technical strength base on CHEARI, CHCT can provide customers with a full range of solutions  
which cover technology, management, quality control and other needs, including testing, product  
certification, product evaluation, risk evaluation, revision of standards and technical specifications,  
industry research, training, technical consultation, laboratory planning, laboratory management system  
consultation etc.  
DETECTION SERVICE  
China Testing & Inspection Institute for Household Electric Appliances (CTIHEA) is a national authoritative  
inspection and testing institution specialized in inspection and testing services and the first batch  
laboratories acquired IECEE-CB qualification, CCC compulsory products certification testing institute  
authorized by State Administration for Market Regulation and the industry(household appliances) products  
quality control and technical evaluation laboratory authorized by Ministry of Industry and Information  
Technology. At the same time, China Testing & Inspection Institute for Household Electric Appliances (CTIHEA)  
is the contract laboratory of China Quality Certification Center (CQC), China Quality Mark Certification  
Group (CQM), China Light Industry Association Certification Center (CCLC), China General Certification  
Center (CGC), China Electronic Standardization Institute (CESI), China Environmental United Certification  
Center (CEC),China Consumers Association (CCA), Beijing Consumer Association (BCA); the contract and  
cooperative laboratory of many foreign certification bodies involving VDE, UL, NEMKO etc.; and the registered  
certification body recognized by Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD).  
The testing capability covers 18 categories of household and similar electrical appliances (including energy  
star), EMC, electrical accessories, lighting equipment, electric motor, information electronic equipment,  
power supply and charging piles, toys, software, materials, environment and general projects, reliability  
testing, ceramics, disinfection products, light industrial products, environmental monitoring, wires and  
cables, gas appliances, with more than 600 testing objects and 1600 testing standards. There are 26 authorized  
signatories.  
The CCC business covers the following nine categories: wire and cable, circuit switch and electrical  
appliances for protection or connection (electrical accessories), small power motors, household and similar  
use equipment, audio and video equipment, information technology equipment, lighting appliances,  
telecommunication terminal equipment, toys and so on. CB accredited range: CAP、CONT、E3、HOUS、INST、  
ITAV、LITE、OFF、SAFE、TRON、EMC in total eleven categories, 676 standards.  
CERTIFICATION SERVICES  
In order to help manufacturers to rely on the brand of CHCT to pass trust to consumers, CHCT has set up  
certification service with the approval of CNCA. Combined with our own advantages and capabilities, an  
integrated service system of "Standards, Testing and Certification" has been built. The certification service  
covers the voluntary product certification of products in 10 fields, including mechanical equipment,  
electronic equipment, electrical equipment and lighting devices. CHCT has maintained close cooperation with  
the government, industry associations, NGO and distributors. Through certification service, it can help  
the manufacturers to grasp the needs of consumers, take the product voluntary certification as the medium  
of selling points, characteristics and differences and establish the standards and testing basis based on  
market hot spots.  
At the same time, CHCT can also provide certification services implemented by the state for manufacturers,  
including: government procurement of energy-saving products certification (refrigerator, air conditioner,  
washing machine, water heater), national certification of restricted use of harmful substances in electronic  
and electrical products (National RoHS certification) and mandatory product certification (CCC  
certification, CNCA-C07-01 Household and similar electrical appliances) and other product certification  
services.  
In international certification, CHCT has the only domestic laboratory for cold chain products certification  
designated by WHO, the only domestic laboratory for Woolmark Apparel Care of washing machine authorized  
by the International Wool Bureau, and the only domestic laboratory for the antibacterial, sterilization  
and purification certification accredited by VDE, through active market expansion and continuous  
international cooperation in recent years. CHCT can provide enterprises with global testing and  
certification services, including CB, CE, VDE, TUV Mark, SASO, GC, PSE, ISI, KC, WHO, UL, GS, Woolmark Apparel  
Care, etc. The product category covers Household appliances, lighting equipment and other 10 fields.  
Meanwhile, as the secretariat of the China-ASEAN bilateral cooperation mechanism, while supporting the  
mutual recognition of ASEAN conformity assessment, CHCT will continue to provide high-quality services for  
domestic and foreign enterprises with the service concept of "Authority, Convenience and Efficiency".
